Assistant Professor of Nursing

Luther College seeks applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Nursing in a thriving undergraduate nursing program. Responsibilities may include didactic instruction, clinical instruction and/or clinical coordination; additional duties include participation in curriculum development, departmental/committee work, student advising and recruiting. Courses will be assigned by the department head in consideration of the candidate's expertise and may include: leadership, ambulatory care, medical-surgical nursing, behavioral health nursing, or gerontological nursing. This teaching load is spread over the fall, January, and spring terms and is geographically located in Rochester, Minnesota, with clinical teaching at Mayo Clinic Rochester Campus. Occasional shared travel to the Luther College campus in Decorah, IA is expected. A Master’s degree in nursing is required; Doctoral degree is preferred. Successful applicants will demonstrate potential for excellence in college teaching and a commitment to the liberal arts. Position requires clinical nursing experience; experience teaching baccalaureate nursing is preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Iowa and Minnesota or ability to obtain by time of hire is required.
