Luther College seeks applications for a .75 FTE (full-time September-May) Nursing Lab and Simulation Assistant/Staff Instructor in Nursing. Under the direction of the Department, the assistant will support teaching of clinical judgement across the curriculum utilizing evidence-based practice. Responsibilities include assisting in the following areas: maintenance of skills and simulation physical spaces, preparation of the laboratory for lab and simulation experiences, facilitation of simulation experiences, maintenance of records related to skills and simulation activities, evaluation of effectiveness of skills and simulation activities, evaluation of student performance, faculty development related to best practices in simulation and skills instruction, and student remediation of nursing practice. Teaching expectations may include lab and clinical practicums in nursing. We seek a nurse who is well versed in the fundamentals of the discipline and is interested in inclusive and innovative pedagogy, including simulation. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and three years of recent medical-surgical and/or acute care experience is required. Also required is eligibility for RN licensure in Minnesota and Iowa. Experience teaching in a baccalaureate program is preferred. Primary responsibilities will be on the main Luther College campus, but may require some travel to Rochester, Minnesota.
