Luther College is seeking a skilled Web Software Developer to help with the development of our current projects and Lutherís website. Working collaboratively with the Front-End Web Developer and ITS, and reporting to the Director of Marketing Operations, this role will troubleshoot and improve current back-end applications and processes for the Luther College website, improve the software by writing code, and modify the software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, and improve its performance. This role will use understanding of programming languages and tools to analyze current code and industry developments, formulate more efficient processes, solve problems, and create a seamless experience for users. The ideal candidate has excellent communication, web software development, and project management skills as well as an extensive knowledge of programming languages and software development. This position requires a bachelorís degree in a related field or five years equivalent work experience, a solid understanding of web development best practices, experience using HTML, CSS, Sass, JavaScript, PHP, and responsive frameworks, experience using IT automation tools, understanding of Apache web server configuration, and open source content management systems.
