Luther College, a four-year residential liberal arts college, invites applications for Health Education and Promotion Coordinator. Under the direction and supervision of the Director of the Nena Amundson Lifetime Wellness Program, this position works to mobilize, create, and sustain campus-wide health promotion practices in order to create an environment that promotes student success, personal development, health, and well-being. A Bachelorís Degree is required. The most relevant degree areas include public health, health promotion, or health education. Degrees in other fields may be considered with evidence of sufficient university-level coursework and/or professional continuing education in the areas listed above along with Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or eligible and intent to become certified and minimum of two years related health promotion work experience, preferably in a higher education environment. A Masterís or advance degree is preferred. Also preferred is experience working in a college/university setting, familiarity with social marketing and health communications, qualitative research skills, history of verified active membership in relevant professional associations (e.g., ACHA, APHA, NASPA, SOPHE, etc.), training as a BASICS/CASICS Facilitator, and training to facilitate NASPA Bacchus Initiative Certified Peer Educator training. Luther is located in the city of Decorah in the beautiful northeast Iowa. Opportunities exist for employees to engage in the local and regional community.
